SuperPlay (1997)

A local take on Discovery Zone and other “indoor playground” locations that were hot in the 90s. SuperPlay tried to out-DZ the competition by building the largest foam-padded, cloth-mesh-enclosed, plastic-ball-filled monstrosity in the state.

By the time this ad was airing, though, Discovery Zone was filing for bankruptcy. The indoor playground was dying, but even if this is a late example, it’s a glorious one.

Note that SuperPlay actually had the plastic colored balls to partially market itself as a “drop-in childcare center,” which is something DZ and Chuck-E-Cheese were never meant for, but that didn’t stop lazy moms from trying.
