As we showed two videos ago, Smiths Home Furnishings started their expansion in 1981 with the opening of their second location. Fourteen years and complete domination of daytime TV ad breaks later, here’s the very LAST mention of Smiths in the archive — part of an opening news segment from October 1995. Customers arrived one day to find the doors of all existing locations padlocked with chains.
